I am a native Tennessean and I have been interested in history pretty much my whole life. I have been an avid defender of the Confederate cause since I was at least in middle school. I just finished work on a graduate degree. However, I believe it important to be upfront and say that I have picked up views on certain matters that don't fit into the current political categories of mainstream conservative or libertarian. I spend a lot of time defending southern and libertarian ideas to mainstream conservatives, and some mainstream conservative positions to libertarians. I met Michael on the internet a couple of years ago. He asked me if I was interested in participating in this site, as he is interested in all opinions. I probably agree with most of you in principle the vast majority of the time, but if I post here often, then I'll probably spend a considerable amount of time writing about the areas I don't agree with you. Even if I don't sound like it sometimes, I do consider myself your ally.

Songs of the Revolution: ‘Tennessee Waltz’

April 6, 2013

The ‘Tennessee Waltz’ is one of the State songs of Tennessee and many Tennesseans identify with the tune. It was originally written as a country western song but has been adopted into many different styles.  It’s played by the Pride of the Southland Marching Band regularly and is always played after a victory in...

Anti-secessionists vs Patrick Henry

Anti-secessionists vs Patrick Henry

I know that Patrick Henry is no stranger to the average guest on SNN, but I never tire of hearing his most famous speech. Furthermore, I think that he may be of aid to us today. Perhaps we should blanket sites with video of his speech and ask those who oppose us to debate...

Rescuing Jefferson

October 29, 2012
Thomas-Jefferson

Dr Thomas DiLorenzo, author of The Real Lincoln and Lincoln Unmasked, published an excellent article about Thomas Jefferson some time ago, but it continues to be relevant, particularly in light of recent conversations. Below is an excerpt: Thankfully for the advocates of a free society, Luigi Marco Bassani has just published a wonderful new book on Jefferson entitled Liberty,...

July 7, 2012

Author and former economics professor Dr Walter E Williams used part of his time substituting on the Rush Limbaugh radio program this week to encourage the States to stand up against unconstitutional laws from DC and support nullification. The Daily Caller quotes Dr Williams as saying: I think the American citizens ought to press...

John Carter: A Confederate

June 26, 2012
John Carter

I never felt tempted in the least to see the movie John Carter in the movie theater, though my brother told me recently that the main character, John Carter, was a Confederate officer. I figured that if Disney was making a movie with a Confederate character, then they would have to at least make...

Pravda slams US media

March 10, 2012

I thought you would find it interesting that Pravda is slamming the US media for putting out propaganda for the administration. As most of you know, Pravda, which means truth in Russia, was the official news media propaganda arm of the Soviet central committee. So, it’s not without some level of irony that Pravda...

The Great Island Festival

September 15, 2011

This last weekend I participated in the Thomas’s Legion reenactment at the Cherokee fall festival at the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum. This is actually several events in one. The Cherokee have an event on tribal land at the Sequoyah museum and on the same island, they have a reenactment and 18th century trade fair at...

150th Oak Hills

September 3, 2011

This is the second attempt at making a post about this trip. Michael was forced to take down the previous attempt due to technical difficulties. For unknown reasons we could not keep the previous version formatted and things kept breaking. Due to these limitations, I’m forced to make this much more simple. Rather than...

Krugman calls for a war on aliens

Here is just another example of how completely insane the Neo-Marxist elitists are. Paul Krugman recently commented that another fake crisis, like “discovering we are under threat by space invasion” is exactly what the government needs to do to fix the economy. We would be better off with crackheads running our society. At least...

Obamageddon

August 8, 2011

Obamageddon. That's what we have witnessed since Friday. Obamageddon. Barackalypse Now. The only silver lining I can find is that as far as 2012 goes, Obama's a Debt Man Walking. Anybody want to tell me he's not landslidable now? Let me repeat this as the Media Tweak of the...

Confederate flag flies at the Tomato Festival

We often hear about the politically correct attacks on our heritage, and flags being taken down, but sometimes we forget that there are still many places where political correctness has not destroyed Southern traditions. Every year at the end of July, Grainger County Tennessee, in the northeastern portion of the state, celebrates the fame...
