Uruguay did not seceded from Brazil (in fact people in Uruguay have always speaks in Spanish and not in Portuguese, thus it proves what I’m saying). Uruguay was an Argentinian territory until it was invaded by the Brazilian Empire. Then there was a war between Argentina and Brazil for the control of Uruguay, and, as a result of it, Uruguay became an independent republic.
The sun in Argentina and Uruguay flag is called “Sol de Mayo” (May’s Sun) and is of Peruvian origins -that sun was used by the Incas Emperors. Argentina -and thus also Uruguay- banned slavery in 1813, so it are countries which has nothing in common with the Golden Circle project.

Perhaps when we’re free again we could find a way to incorporate both Rhett’s flag and the 3rd National into different uses. And maybe in the capitol have the 1st and 2nd displayed as well.

VS, my favourite of the CSA flags is the 3rd. Very handsome banner. But I love the symbolism of Rhett’s flag as well.

I like Rhett’s flag, but am also quite partial to our 3 national flags. 2nd National is my favourite, personally. At the Museum of the Confederacy I saw one hanging in the White House. Beautiful sight.
