Now to answer the question, “Will Southrons act in defense of the Empire and kill fellow Southrons or will they refuse such orders”? The answer is yes and no. For the yes part, the under pinning of the answer is that most Southern Natinal guard units will be sent north or west to deal with the unrest. This will take away in possible contact with their family and friends. In addition, since they will deployed far away from home they will not be able to follow the activities of their home state. Not will they be to far away from their home state, their families will be placed in a FEMA holding area (internment camp) to help insure compliance by the soldier to perform his duties as ordered. Reconstructed southerners will gladly perform their duty because for them there is no other alternative. For them the south is dead.

As for the no part. Well that is alittle bit harder to answer. For most Southrons in the National Guard. They will most likely not report for deployment. They along with their familiews help will try to hide out. This is very dangerous for all parites concerned.

If the treatment of the south by union soldiers during and after the war for Southern Independence was atrocious, that will pale compared to the treatment the south will receive when martial law is declared. The south will bear the brunt of etnic cleansing once the round up and killing starts. As Susanne writes: “The US military have orders to shoot and kill all dissenters”.
