The PC Left’s attack on a certain Georgia-based, Christian-owned fast-food restaurant has apparently backfired with a massive turn out today across the United States in support of Dan Cathy, Chick-fil-A and traditional values.
Throngs of people weighed in on the Chick-fil-A debate at stores across the United States on Wednesday, buying chicken sandwiches to show their support for the restaurant chain and its president’s opposition to same-sex marriage.
And Yahoo News reports:
After several weeks of protests and mayoral catcalls stemming from Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy’s controversial public comments against same-sex marriage, supporters of the fast-food chain–and traditional marriage–turned out in droves on Wednesday, jamming many of Chick-fil-A’s 1,600 U.S. stores. And protesters, for the most part, stayed away.
This naturally makes me wonder what Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and University of Louisville President John Ramsey think of the vast numbers of ordinary people who reject their bizarre world-view?
I should note that I was at home this evening when a family member came by, gave me a Chick-fil-A sandwich and fries and told me ‘It’s Chick-fil-A Day!’ I had forgotten and I rarely eat fast-food anyhow, but tonight it’s a chicken sandwich for supper.

It amazes me how anyone crams fast food down their throat. I feel so sorry for those kids who are fed it multiple times a week. It’s been years since I have eaten fast food and so far I haven’t missed it.
Personally, I think this is about the silliest tempest in a teapot I have heard of in quite some time. I mean, we’re in a country with 2 never ending wars, trillions in deficit spending, a federal debt that’s bigger than the human brain can comprehend, a Postal System that is about to default, and we’re diddling over what a fast food joint thinks about stuff. I mean, really?
Pezman,
You have to understand… this provides distractions to the masses from how the federal government is skewing them out of their wealth. Why do you think that the LGBT social change has been embraced by the federal government. It gives the Democrats the ability to champion the social cause, while giving the Republicans the ability to stand for “traditional” values (I mean true traditional values such as classic liberalism has been tossed out the window since the end of War of Northern Aggression). The masses refuse to face the fact that politicians could care less about what issue they are for or against as long as it allows them to retain power.
On the other hand, pulling a midsize corporation into the mix in this manner is a relatively new tactic… if it successfully distract the mindless masses than I would expect it to be employed again.
Y’all make good points about both fast-food in general being awful (which is why I very rarely eat it) and this controversy distracting the masses. That said, I see their willingness to rally in defence of this company based on their moral views as being positive. And check out the demographic that is doing this. I find it encouraging and worth lending my voice of support to, if nothing else. I also get tired of writing about all the awful wars the Feds are fighting all the time or about the stupid political games that play out every day. It’s nice to be able to cover something positive for a change.
Amen brother. It is good to see some light in the darkness.
I also think this is a good thing. Though I rarely eat fast food myself I had planned on going to CFA yesterday for a chicken salad. But thought better of it when hearing of the long lines.
Signs of hope, I suppose. Gays are kind of an easy target though, since they will never be the majority and are seen as outcasts among any ethnic group. If this company had came out denouncing miscegenation or promoting white pride they would have gone under in a week. That is the current state of the PC white masses. Attack the gays while your children are being taught that ending their bloodlines by mixing their blood seed with aliens is ‘kewl’ and ‘hip’.
I haven’t eaten fast food in years; I cook from scratch. That being said, this IS important on many levels. Firstly, it is important that the truth is shown that voicing opposition to same sex marriage is akin to “racism” in the minds of the uber Liberal Left, and getting their attention that it won’t work. It is also important in that it shows support for “traditional values” namely that of free speech, and against the “gay” agenda. Do you know that it is now mandatory to teach about “gay sex” to elementary school children in California??? :-0 Also it is important to show support for a privately held business and the owners expressing their religious beliefs as Obummer-care seeks to destroy that. A business in Colorado who has been in the HVAC business for over 20 years is privately held and owned by Roman Catholics. They sued to be exempted from Obummer-care on religious grounds. The Fed said NO and told them they can either offer Obummer-care with the Abortion provision or, they can close their business. Aint’ that great!????? Outrageous really. So standing in support of Mr. Cathy is important if we don’t want to see this country turned into more of a cesspool of perversion than it already has become imho.
I think sometimes we over Analise events. We know this is being used to distract us as well as trying to forward an agenda for both parties. But I thought I would pass this missive along for everyone’s enjoyment. I am not a Tea Party supporter and never will be. As for This is how we are taking America back, I do not see it ever happening. Anyway, here it is:
My family and I went to Chick-fil-a in Fredericksburg for dinner last night. Finding an empty parking space was quite difficult, the line was unbelievably long, the summer heat was pretty strong and everyone was hungry. They were perfect conditions for an unruly crowd. But everyone was on their best behavior – “pardon me” and “thank you” was heard everywhere, the doors were opened and held for guests to follow, patrons ate quickly so that others would have a chance at a table and no one cut in line so they could get ahead.
I have seen this kind of crowd only a few times in my life – at TEA Party gatherings. The most memorable for me was at the National Capitol where a couple of hundred thousand like-minded folks gathered for the day but left the grounds without a scrap of litter on the ground. It seems to me that the common denominator – Americans who hold strongly to their traditional principles and values – are shining examples of the best this country can offer.
Last night’s attendance of the Chick-fil-a Appreciation Day had nothing to do with chicken. It also had nothing to do with alleged homophobia, intolerance, hatred or bigotry by those who owned the restaurant chain. It was, instead, about standing up for the rights of all Americans to adhere to – and express – personal beliefs as guaranteed by the First Amendment to the American Constitution. We were there to show our support for the president of Chick-fl-a who had recently been vilified in the media and by prominent politicians for merely expressing his personal viewpoint. What viewpoint? That marriage should be between one man and one woman.
The fact that Chick-fil-a restaurants across the country had similar experiences demonstrates to me that Americans have had enough from hypocritical media outlets and politicians that have overstayed their welcome. This is how we are taking America back.
