Jared,
I have no doubt that there are some professors at any college or university who spend the majority of their time pushing their own personal social agendas. However, everyone has a choice to what type of college they wish to pursue their education at. No one has forced any of these students to attend this particular university. There are plenty of other private colleges and university that do not push for this type of social change. It is their choice on whether or not they embrace the social agendas that they are being taught.

Nor do I believe that these students are being “brainwashed”. That is a horrible generic term that is thrown around whenever someone tries to shift the blame of the action of the individual to another individual or collective. These young adults have the ability to make their own choices and must live with the consequences of said choice.

Chad, the issue is that universities are brainwashing our young people with their Marxist anti-Southern and anti-White poison. And thanks to the socioeconomic environment created by progressives with government sponsorship of "education", a university degree is pretty much mandatory for almost all decent white collar jobs and for that matter many other skilled labor jobs. The University of Louisiana's obvious progressive slant does not reflect the general views of the Louisiana citizenry, which is taxed to subsidize the institution. That's the gripe here. I don't think Michael intended to protest the right for people to boycott Chick-Fil-A or anything like that. But I'm sure you would probably realize that a good number if not the majority of the students joining the anti-Christian and anti-traditional values bandwagon are greatly helped along in developing such views by the UL faculty and its administration.

This is pretty much a non-issue to me. There is nothing wrong with the students petitioning to get rid of an organization that they don’t won’t in their student activity center. If enough students agree that they don’t like Chick-Fil-A stance than discontinue the contract. On the other hand, if enough students support Chick-Fil-A being there they should stay. I am sure that their student organization has a process of removing and bringing in companies to the student activity center.

From a capitalist standpoint though, if the majority of students simply refuse to purchase food from this Chick-Fil-A it would force the company out of business there. In fact, I think that boycotting corporations that you don’t approve of is far more effective than signing a petition. Whatever happens in this situation, people who don’t attend that facility or pay state taxes should respect the community of U of L enough to make their own decisions and resolves this matter in the way that they think is best for their student body. After all, the Yankees already engage in enough busybody activity for the whole world plus.

The most Orwellian thing they did is rename Marxism "Critical Theory"---- as if there is any critical thinking to it.

Also--- this is the "why" of the saga of the "Scholarship Student." Richard Rodriguez, a gay Rhodes scholar from the hispanic barrio wrote a book called "Hunger of Memory" years ago, about how horrible it was to be taken out of hispanic poverty and given a free ride to Harvard. He pretty much encapsulated the reality of many of those "students" today.

Of the Ivy League people I've known (and its a few) only about 10% had parents who actually paid for them to go there. The rest were heavy loans (thinking the college was a real leg up) or "Scholarship Student." ---These latter two feel VERY GRATEFUL, not to mention out of their depth, also usually very ambitious (whether they're particularly IQ smart or not--- and this is what allows them to buy into what's said in those places.

A lot of rich people don't really seem to go there anymore. ---since it's a PC scholarship track.
