Note: The following is obviously satire.
Look how PC I am! I honour the Totobiegosode Confederates and their brave sacrifice for Dixie. That proves that I’m anti-racist. It proves that the Confederate flag is not racist. The Confederate flag stands for all races, religions, species, sexual orientations, etc. Lincoln was the real racist because he was against the Totobiegosode Confederates! We should always remember the Totobiegosode Confederates. If you disagree with me then you’re a racist!

Thats just too funny. I can only hope this pisses off the Rainbow Confederates.
Ive come across some of these Rainbow Confederates myself today. There was a Lincoln apologist in a “Defending the Heritage” group. Another was going to vote for Romney b/c apparently he isnt “as evil” as Obama; and after 4 years with Romney “if he doesnt work out” we can elect someone else. He also referred to me and secessionists in general as “you people”. This gentleman had a photo of Robert E Lee as his profile pic. I dont understand folks like that.
Masked Walnut, the key to understanding such people is that they’re ‘Americans’ but for some reason they have a fondness for the South. They try to reconcile the two but end up spouting nonsense in order to ‘defend Southern heritage’. They’ll swallow a vulture but strain at a gnat. The propaganda has defeated their critical reasoning abilities. They truly believe that 2+2=5.
Very true Harold

I enjoy the graphic – everybody loves Dixie.
As for the raindow Confederates: I understand your point, most of the Confederacy was White. That said, credit does go to the non-Whites who fought the Yankees, specifically Stand Waite and the 5 Civilized Tribes. When dealing with the PC types, it seems the important issue is guiding the discussion back to WHY these other folks took up arms (ie: liberty over tyranny), not nit-picking the ‘if’.

Rogimodo, I certainly have no problem with giving credit where it is due and researching who fought for the South. My problem with the Rainbow/PC Confederates is that pretty much all they do is spend their time trying to find non-Whites who fought for the South, greatly exaggerate the number of such people and then try to make the claim that they are not racist because I honour the Totobiegosode Confederates. They think they can ‘prove’ they are not ‘racist,’ somehow failing to understand that ‘racist’ is a slur the anti-Whites and Leftists use against us. It does not have a fixed meaning, as they use it. It’s just a slur. You can no more ‘prove’ you are not ‘racist’ to such people than you can ‘prove’ you not a ‘stupid-head’ on playground with six year olds. As well, the Rainbow/PC types quite often have bought into the failed universalist/Leftist values of the 60s and want to project these values onto the Confederacy. I have found that no matter how many times I quote real Confederate leaders speaking in frank terms about race these types refuse to accept it. They want to believe in a universal, multicultural, proposition nation-style CSA that is much like the USA today but with a Confederate flag. Such people almost always reject the classical notion of nationhood as being an ethnic/cultural body and instead embrace the US-style notion of ‘civic nationalism.’ An example of this I have encountered is with the Cherokees. Yes, the Cherokees were allied with the CSA. I don’t deny that or wish to take anything away from their struggle. I think most Southerners are pro-Indian. However, the Cherokees are their own nation of people. The CSA did not consider the Cherokees part of the Southern nation. Rather, they were an allied nation of people with their own ethnicity, identity, culture, etc. just as we had our own ethnicity, identity, culture, etc. Typically, Rainbows want to argue that such people were part of a multicultural Southern ‘nation’ that included all sorts of races and cultures. Obviously, such a collection of people would not have been a real nation at all.
I think that it is easy to go too far to either side of the issue. There were Negro, Hispanic, and Tejano Confederates; patriotic Southerners, regardless of whether or not they were in the army. To deny their role in the South’s struggle would be wrong. But to follow the example of the Rainbow Confederates by exaggerating their role and using them to show that the Confederacy was multicultural (in the modern, liberal sense of the term), egalitarian, and utopian (in the modern, liberal sense of the term) is insulting. I think the Rainbow Confederates insult and disgrace the non-White Confederates as much as those who deny their existence do. It is the same with the misnomer of “Civil War.” To call the war a civil war (something it most certainly was not) dishonours every last soul who partook in the struggle, on either side, by denying the causes for which they truly fought and died. Likewise, Rainbow Confederates dishonour what all Southerners, White and non-White, fought and died for when they uphold this false notion of the egalitarian South.
Michael & VA Secessionist -
I agree with you both, my point was trying to suggest putting the debate on the causes rather than the surface. Clearly, you cannot ‘prove’ you are not a racist or anything else to someone who will not listen to reason – but those who still have ears to hear – can get value out a discussion with substance.

Great point, Virginian Secessionist, but you left out the LGBT Confederates. Never forget their sacrifice.
Jared, I think you mistake me for a Rainbow Confederate. I would kindly ask you to reread my post, and if you still find error with it, please kindly explain that error, rather than simply throw out a sarcastic remark. Thank you, sir.
