Romney spoke to whom & has what to show for it?

July 13, 2012
By

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney recently spoke before the yearly conference of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored (NAACP) People in Houston, Texas. Despite his effort, Romney was accused after the speech by NAACP leaders of somehow pandering to White people. A recent poll shows Romney with 1% of the Black vote. One Percent. Our resident artist, Matthew at MissouriTenth.com (who has appeared on the SNN podcast) took the opportunity to mock the entire ridiculous spectacle. Be sure to check out Matthew’s new Southern Activism site! If you like his pro-South art you might be interested in some of the products Matthew he has designed.

I heard that David Duke won 9 percent of the black vote when he ran for governor of Louisiana.

A black man that I work with knows that we don’t agree on Obama. Every time he comes in my office, he makes it a point to ask me if I have changed my mind yet about voting for his man Obama. My answer is always the same. No. Last time he came in my office, I beat him to the question asking him if he had changed HIS mind yet. He emphatically said “No! I’m voting for Obama because he makes policies and laws that help people that look like me.”

The truth is apparent. The fact is that nearly all black people will vote again for Obama simply based on skin color.

Voting for the other man – a Yankee that has made clear his opinion about the Confederate Flag, now that’s a tough one! Romney said (about the Confederate Flag during the 2008 election), “That’s not a flag that I recognise or that I would hold up in my room. The people of our country have decided not to fly that flag. I think that’s the right thing. My own view is that this country can go beyond that kind of stuff.”

What a telling statement – “the people of our country”. It may be true that many of the people of “his country” think that way about the Confederate Flag. But the people of MY country still fly it! Proudly and unashamedly!

What the heck is a good Southerner supposed to do in November? Our land cannot take another four years of Obama. But Romney is a sad alternative. I am but one of many that do not intend to “go beyond that kind of stuff” because I will proudly hold up the Flag and gladly choose to honor the memory and bravery of our Confederate ancestors until my dying breath.

Rose, you vote for whom you can still respect yourself. Considering the near meaninglessness of voting it simply isn’t worth it to sacrifice your self-respect.

We didn’t vote for President Stephen Douglas.

Lets see, voting for the socialst, communist, markist, no slave blood, prefential treating BHO or voting for the socialist, communist, markist Mormon
Romney. I think we Southrons are in big trouble. Time to coalesce, plan stratigies, implement actions, support each other regardless of we fell personally about one another. Our NATION, HERITAGE, CULTURE are at stake.
