An SNN reader recorded the following video interview with Rick Bullock, a legend of the Florida surfing scene who has shaped boards for world champions. In this video Mr Bullock talks about his career in the business, how things were in Hawaii and Florida back in the 60s and 70s, the negative impact of the flood of angry Yankees who flocked to Florida and the development of the surf board itself. The following description comes from The Independent Surfer:
Rick Bullock has been shaping surfboards for over 30 years and like many surfboard builders has his own theories and outlooks on the art of surfing and board building. Having shaped for some of the best surfers in the world as well as every day local surfers he has vast experience in a variety of surfboard designs and wave conditions. This interview was conducted along with another and the original camera ran out of juice so this portion was shot, hand held with a point and shoot Kodak. Rick shapes at Waterboys in Pensacola Florida.
