‘Covenant Agrarianism’

June 28, 2012
By

The Southern people and our world-view have always been closely linked to agrarianism. The Old South became one of the wealthiest societies in the world based on its agricultural production. Even after the US conquest of the independent South, our society remained largely agricultural well into the twentieth century. Even today, most Southerners are only a couple generations removed from the soil. Though we may live in suburbs, towns or cities, our passions and values remain connected to the agricultural world.

David E Rockett

Founding member of the League of the South David E Rockett gave a speech some time ago on the more spiritual aspects of agrarianism. His talk was entitled ‘Covenant Agrarianism.’ Thanks to an SNN reader who made this available to us and to Dr Michael Hill (president of the League) who gave his blessing to our use of the material, we are now posting this excellent presentation here for all to enjoy.
